Transportation of Dangerous Goods
Learning to handle, label, and offer for transport dangerous goods safely by air. This course also provides direction and assistance to all company personnel.
Flight Dispatch
As a part of Flight Operations, Flight Dispatch encompasses all knowledge required during every phase of flight. Flight Dispatch allows for the efficient and precise coordination of flight planning, aircraft and crew availability, as well as meteorology during daily operations. Subject covered include Dispatch Procedures, Communications, Canadian Air Regulations, Federal Air Regulations (USA) and Air Traffic Control procedures.
Northern Flight Operations Experience - Optional
This optional course allows for the Float rated pilot to experience bush operations in Northern Ontario. For two weeks, the candidate will be assisting a Northern Ontario Float Operator at the dock, servicing float equipped aircraft as well as flying to various outpost camps that need re-supply. This work experience program is a unique opportunity for the candidate wishing to pursue a career as a Bush Pilot.
Aero Medical Training (Optional)
This optional Aero Medical training is conducted at the Defense and Civil Institute of Environmental Medicine. This training entails an introduction to physiological and psychological effects on the human body. Subject covered include hypoxia and hyperventilation, trapped and evolved gases, and oxygen equipment familiarization.
Aircraft Ditching and Water Egress Training (Optional)
With the use of an underwater escape trainer for practical training, this optional program introduces students to water survival techniques required in the event of an aircraft ditched in a body of water.
